Darlene Cahill
Last but never least is a wonderful creative woman that I found on HSN during the sewing days.
That would be Darlene Cahill. Darlene is the lady that really got me back in to crafting and sewing after about 30 years of not doing any type of crafting as life got in the way.
When Darlene was the Singer, Brother and all the sewing machines that HSN carried Demonstrator.
I bought several Singer Sewing machines. Five to be exact. I have been now sewing and crafting since 2011. I have had a lot of trial and errors along the way and have succeeded at most.
Would I really sell anything that I have made in sewing? No. Would I really sell any of my silly crafts items? No. I do not feel that I am really good enough on my own meaning really making my own from my head design. I do rely on tools like the scan n cut and the screen sensation. Maybe it is my age now. I know in my younger years I would dream of doing a project in my sleep and get up in the morning and reproduce it from my dream. Now a days I think of ideas while I fall asleep and then hope I remember them in the morning. As we get older things change.
If by chance Sarah Payne sees this blog. Hopefully here are some of the pictures I wanted to show you several weeks ago.
First is my Faux quilt this is baby fabric cut receiving blanket size then wading=batting. Blanket binding and sewn mitered corners. Sewed all cut pieces together then used ruler and fabric pencil to draw lines down the front of the blanket. down and across. Then sewed down with a straight stitch and used a quarter in pressure foot. then attached the blanket binding and made the mitered corners.
The last picture is of all the other things I created with bought baby bibs and baby oneses . I embroidered and I sew designs from one of my Singer sewing machines. That would be the designs around the collar of the oneses. Singer 9970. Embroidery Machine sesq6000 four in one sewing machine.
All other sewing done on my Singer Heavy duty 5532 I also dyed the oneses too as they are plain white. I also used my Singer Professional 5 thread serger to sew around the two receiving blankets.
Plus I made the baby towel and the face cloth out of terry cloth and embroidered and serged that too.
I also made a little baby hat from scraps of soft pink flannel fabric.
Thank you for reading this if you have and looking at my pictures. Thank you Sarah for unknowingly pointing me in this blog direction.
Keep Calm and Craft On.
Happy Crafting Fawna
