I hung up my zodiac quilt here is what it looked like

Hello there,
Hope everyone is happy and healthy. I hung up my quilt in an art show. Here is how it looked finished and hung up.

I did not win a ribbon but that is ok with me. I was extremely pleased that the group allowed me to enter and hang it and it will now stay there till July. I entered it in with paintings, oil and acrylic and mixed media. There were five ribbon winners from first place to two Honorable mentions. All the paintings entered where absolutely stunning and very well done.

I think a quilt show would have been a great place too for my quilt. Could sell it there if someone was interested in purchasing it. That would be neat if that happened.

Now on to the next project. Not sure as to what that will be.

Wishing you all a very happy Mother's Day.

My Singer Sewing Machines

Hello My Crafty ones,

I am going to talk to you today a little about my sewing machines. I have 5 Singer sewing machines. I think I mentioned that in one of my blogs down the page.

All 5 of my machines are Singers. Back in the Day and not to promote any Selly teley shows. I purchased them off of HSN. In the days of the lovely Darlene Cahill. sew-est extraordinaire of HSN.

Before I continue on I want you know that I am not a spokes person for Singer or any of the products that I use for my crafting or sewing or what ever it is I do.

The machines that I have are:

The Singer Sesq 6000 4in1 furtura sewing embroidery, serger, quilting machine.
I have used that machine to do machine embroidery.
I also have the Singer Heavy duty 5532 sewing machine
I used that machine for all my heavy duty sewing jeans, hems and crafts.
I have even sewn paper on that machine.

I have the Singer Signature sewing machine 9340
I used that for light sewing and it also will sew the alphabet and numbers and has loads of stitches and designs.
I have the Singer Quantum stylist 9970.
This similar to the Signature but on the quantum line. It has a load of designs and stitches and can also sew the alphabet and numbers etc. Both of these machines can do mirror image. All of my machines are easy threading drop in bobbin and come with a extension table.

I made my quilt on my Singer Quantum Stylist 9077.

I have a Singer serger 5 thread professional Over lock the 14T9698DC.
I have used this machine to make table cloths and sewed a dress on it and made other fun things.
I like this machine because you can sew it finished in one fell swoop. Cut and hem or sew sides together all  at one time. Makes it very convenient to get the job done quick. As long as you know what you are doing. A serger is not for everyone and those that can use it and understand it can make some wonderful soft items or clothing on it. The serger does not come with an extension table.

My machines are all well taking care of. I keep them in sewing machine trolleys and use them when I need to.

Why do I have 5 sewing machines? I felt that each one had its own sewing mechanics and thought I could utilize each one in a different way.  I have really enjoyed them.

Here are pictures of three of my sewing machines.

My Singer 9970 quantum style, Singer Signature 9340 and my Singer Serger 5 thread professional Over lock the 14T9698DC. These machines are now older machines but still work like new. I really like Singer for its price and for its quality of the machines.Plus I got a ton of different presser feet to use with each machine.

I did have to replace  my Heavy duty from Singer and Singer gave me a brand new one. I love that machine and mostly use it.
I will show pictures of my other two Singers. When I get the chance.

Thanks for reading and Happy Sewing.
Fawna

I have now have pictures of my two other machines the Singer Embroidery and the Heavy duty.
Here there are. I have two embroidery hoops that came with my Singer 4-1 Futura sewing machine.
They are 6x10 and 4x4. I really like the fact that two hoops came with my machine. I have all the software that is used to work this machine. Very nice indeed.

Making soap and more creations from my crafting.

Hello all you craft lovers,

One day I went over to my friends house a fellow craftier and we made soap. We made soap out of lye and soap out of Glycerine. They came out very well per my friends directions. I was just assisting as I have never made soap before. Not sure if it is something I wish to get involved in. With that said I did have a great time and really enjoyed her company and making the soap. It smells very nice and washes very nice too. It is placed in a little organza bag and you use it that way to wash with and it exfoliates your skin. We used scents and dyes and flower petals and seeds and oatmeal and even baby food carrots. That one is shaped like a heart. Great day and loads of fun♥
Here is a picture of the soap we made.

Here are a few more things I have been working on in my craft room. I am trying my hand at painting little 6x6 square canvas blocks. I am not a great artist as so many are. Therefore I use items to aide me in my quest of painting. I will admit that they look rather child like but that is because I have never had a lesson  in acrylic paint or any style of canvas painting, other then paint by numbers back in the day. I will admit my art class grade was an A etc. It did encourage me to continue on in my years with crafting or creating many soft items or clay items etc.

The little pictures you are to see are pictures I created using two aide devises. One of course is my love my Brother Scan n Cut and two my new love Screen Sensation the little rabbit. That is all about screen printing.
The picture of the crescent moon is a design from my brother scan n cut.  The picture next to it is suppose to be a pumpkin not a tomato. That is also from the brother scan n cut but I removed the jack-o-lantern eyes and made it more like a pumpkin in the field.
The next picture as you go from left to right is my rendition of a March hare. The little rabbit is a screen sensation design. The next and last picture to complete the square is designs again found in my Brother Scan n cut. The tree and the squirrel are designs from the Brother scan n cut. I just added in my own interpretation.   Personally to me it looks like a standing up porcupine. As you can see I am not an accomplished artist. I am a mere old craftier.

Without further ado. Here are my paintings.

Hope you enjoyed reading my silly craft adventures. I really do just while my day away crafting any thing I can think of.

Happy crafting,
Fawna
