I have completed my Zodiac quilt. I made my own binding for it as well.
I am not a professional nor am I a spokes person for any of the products that I used to create my quilt. Remember this is my very first quilt.
How I made my Zodiac Quilt.
Finish Quilt is 37 in long by 19 inches wide.
I used fat quarters and cut them down to 6x6 12
same fat quarters 2in x6in rectangles 15

I used fat quarter charms that were 5x5 for the zodiac signs 12
I used one quarter charm to cut out a mermaid for one of the zodiac signs.
Reduced one of the zodiac signs to use with the mermaid.
I bought fabric yellow cotton 1 yd backing of quilt
I bought fabric purple cotton 11/2 yards. Bias binding for around the sides of the quilt to in case the sides and finish it off.
I use a off white light tan cotton thread.
I used purple quilting thread
Red cotton thread
blue cotton thread
I used low loft batting.
I use the applique sheet for the brother scan N cut.
I used the Brother High tack fabric sheet for 12x12
I used Brother standard mat
I used Brother stand blade. One set aside especially for cutting fabric.
I used stick on rhinestones and glued on star sequence.
I used cricut and scan n cut gold glitter iron on vinyl.
I used my Singer 9970 computerized sewing machine.
I used my Brother Scan n Cut 650w plus the zodiac designs found in the machine.
I cut out all my designs, fabric squares, rectangle shapes and loops with my brother scan n cut.
I cut everything out that I need with my Brother Scan n Cut. Ironed on my zodiac signs, All my glitter vinyl designs names dates and symbols. I then sew all the pieces together to make my top of my quilt.
I cut my yellow backing and my low loft batting a bit larger then my front of my quilt. I then pinned it together wrong sides together. I made a fabric sandwich with my fabric. Top layer, batting, back layer fabric. I sew all around and then cut off the what was excess. I then measured my quilt for my bias binding cut it then ironed my sides and ironed down the middle. I made around 5yards. I needed around 31/2 yards. I cut my loops using a rectangle found in the basic shapes of my scan n cut. I made the rectangle 2inchs high by 6 inches wide I cut 4. I then cut out the names of the elements for each sign in red blue silver and green glitter. I sewed up my loops then iron on the glitter.
I sewed on my bias binding and my loops and now my quilt is done.
I am also going to show you some of the other things I have been working on. First up remember the candles I was working on? I have them completed as well.
How I made my painted candles.
I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out the rose and ivy design found with in the stencil design of my Brother Scan n Cut. I then cut them out on white card stock and taped them on to the candle and use blue, red, purple, and orange and green acrylic water based paints. I then dabbed the colors on to each appropriate stencil area. Here is the end result.
